Legacy Forward provides archival services to help individuals and organizations catalogue, digitize, and preserve their collections through assessments, hands-on support, expert consulting. Based in Naramata, BC, and serving clients across the Okanagan Valley. We offer tailored solutions for backlog reduction, legacy preservation, donation preparation, policy and workflow creation, and the long-term management of both digital and physical assets.
Our approach is flexible and personalized. Depending on the project, we offer in-home visits, remote consultations, or on-site support. As a client-centered practice, we maintain high standards of care using professional archival practices and museum-quality methods.
Archivist and Owner Operator
Nicole brings over 15 years of experience in cultural institutions, including 10 years of hands-on archival practice. She holds a Master’s degree in Art History with a focus on the History of Photography from Queen’s University, along with two Bachelor’s degrees in Art History & Visual Culture and Fine Arts from UBC Okanagan.
Her speciality includes a broad range of collection types—from historical photographs and documents to contemporary art. Nicole has experience handling fragile heritage materials, managing art and heritage collections, and overseeing digital asset documentation and preservation.
She has worked with Indigenous collections and approaches all projects with cultural sensitivity, a commitment to ethical stewardship, and a deep understanding of the colonial power structures embedded in Canadian art, heritage, and historic places.
As a member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP), Nicole remains current with industry standards and best practices.
